Following on from the success of the Movie Poster campaign from the previous season, I focused on sound rather than sight for 2018/19.
Picking up on the popularity of the club’s players with its fans – and the new chants that reverberated from the stands – home and away – I decided to commission the creation of Music CDs.

They celebrated this togetherness in the build-up to the Play-Off Final at Wembley.
Launched across all social media channels, they proved incredibly popular as Aston Villa returned to the Premier League.

As well as the illustrations, a video was also created on the eve of the Wembley game.
It incorporated all the chants into one piece of content – and reminded fans to sing them to their advantage on Play-Off Final day.
This followed on from the regular season campaign of giving Music Albums a claret and blue theme.
Like Movie Posters the previous season, this creative approach also served a commercial purpose as I was aware that these would work to help sell tickets more than standard ‘graphic + link’ posts.

The three pictured above showcase some of that design artwork.
They feature The Beatles, Blur and Manic Street Preachers.
